| Overview
"We all live aboard spaceship Earth, along
with six billion other passengers… our most pressing task
is to learn to protect it".
invenTerre
has set its sights on bringing awareness to visitors of the Earth's
fragile balance through an impressive collection of space images
transmitted by Earth observation satellites. With this exhibition,
the Cité de l’espace invites its visitors to view
an inventory of the results of a decade of satellite-based Earth
observation technology.
Ever since space exploration began, scientists
have been busy developing tools to enhance our knowledge about
Earth and help us to monitor our planet. These tools are invaluable
aids for characterising, understanding, modelling and foreseeing
the way the Earth changes. Today, invenTerre is giving visitors
a hands-on opportunity to find out about some applications of
satellite technology and a blueprint for the future of Earth observation.
Target audience
Families with children, and school groups.
Languages
The exhibition panels and terminals are in three languages
: French, English and Spanish.
